@ High School!!!!

June11
Sos havn`t been posting for a while because I have started high school. It is nearly the opposite to primary school in more ways then 1. Firstly there are the different classes, they run in periods that are equal length and you rotate classes throughout the day,eg;my schedule for Mondays  is one period english, geography, 2 periods maths, break 1, 2 music, lunch and sport. At my school we finish at 2:30 and on Wednesday 2:00. These periods can last from 15min to 2h it just depends on what school you go to.

Tips

  • never be late because you will most likely get detention
  • even though some people like to have small bags you will definitely need an at least medium sized bag to carry all your books in
  • I would suggest catch a bus to school because then you can make sure your at school on time
  • prepare a schedule for yourself because the homework load is farely large
  • and last of all I know your rents will tell you this all the time but pack the night before because trust me I’ve forgotten quite a  few books on mistake sometimes

My last tip would be not to be scared of high school. Yes you may lose a lot of friends but you’ll make many more too but remember to keep up on your assignments because if you don’t…..I’m not even going to tell you what happens.

☻Registration- My Blogging Story☻

December3

Earlier in the year my teacher introduced me to blogging by making a class blog that each student would manage in one way or another. I learnt a great deal of info telling me how to manage and control a blog but it wasn’t till I got a blog of my own that I realised how amazing and fun it is to have one.

I was completely amazed at being able to show my work to the world and talk to so many students from different schools and countries.Throughout owning a blog I got to meet many people and learn about all their different cultures and traditions.
One person that I talked to was from Canada that told me about a special day in the year that’s called thanksgiving. On this day you tell everyone what your thankful for and have a big feast that includes a giant turkey.

While having a blog I can express how I feel about things and I can tell people whats life like for me. The blog also lets you get things off your chest and tell someone about it instead of just going in your hidey-hole and feeling guilty about it. In the posts I can write about my past, the present or what I would like to do in the future.

Blogging has also changed my writing ability. Before blogging I was okay at writing but since I started blogging I feel more confident in my writing and more sure about exactly what I’m writing about. One of the ways that I found out this was when a teacher commented on my blog saying that it was really good and that I could consider an author as a job when I was much older. Having this said to me I felt even more confident and very proud of my blogging work.

Quite a few of the blogging challenges I have mastered and I deeply enjoyed doing but I think I need more time to get them done and maybe a few less challenges but asides from that I think blogging is unbelievably great and I would love to claim a blogging award for it.

☻ Christmas ☻

December2

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas! This holiday is one of my favourites. On the first of December my family I put up a huge tree and decorate our house until it looks like a Christmas palace. This year we’re having a Christmas party, its going to be heaps of fun.

Many people around the world celebrate Christmas in all different but I celebrate it by inviting lots of my family and friends over and we have a big feast as well as me making a gingerbread house. We also make a Christmas cake containing dried fruit and all different kinds of nuts. At Christmas we also get heaps of presents especially the children.

In Australia we have a tale about a man named Santa Clause that goes around to all the good children’s houses and deliver them presents. The tale has affected children all around the world and from that day on it has come true to all the children.

What do you do at Christmas?
Please comment on this post and tell me what you do for Christmas.

I think Summer is the best season of the year. You get to do so many things like going to the beach, eating ice blocks and playing in the beautiful sunshine. One of my favourite things to do is going to the beach but I’m sure that all you bloggers out there have a different answer so please tick on the box of your choice and then we’ll get started.

What do you like to do in Summer?

Thank you for participating.

A Typical Day at School

November18

When you get to school you have to rather stay on the concrete areas under the COLA or if its raining go inside your classroom. Most people get dropped off to school at about 8:45 where others come on the bus at 8:30, 8:40 or 8:55. When the bell rings at 8:55 stage 3 ( year 6 and year 5) make their way up to the stairs under the COLA and wait for their teachers to mark the roll. We then have students who set up a various range of sport equipment for our PE session. There is 9 groups that we are in and 9 different activities that we rotate around.

After finishing PE we continued down to our classrooms and have a look at our schedule for the day that Mrs Cliff ,our teacher, will put up onto the smartboard. Then we would start our work. Normally we would start with literacy and divide ourselves into our groups and do rather blogging, spelling worksheets, reading or grammar for 1 hour.

At 11:00 it’s recess and we grab some food and go outside to play. In the playground we usually have one group of friends that we hang out with and eat with. One of our activities to pass the time is handball. In this game you have a small bouncy ball that is as big as a tennis ball and you divide yourself into four squares. In squares there is one person and the squares are made into kings, queens, ace and dunst. Ace is the highest and starts with the ball. He or she will bounce the ball into somebody elses square making sure that it bounces in their square first and if not it is called a full. You keep bouncing the ball to each other until someone misses it and it goes out of their square and then that person is out and the next person comes on to play.

Afterwoods we are in our classrooms and ready to start some maths. In this time we do a few worksheets on maths and since my class is an OC class I get to do extension work thats for year 7 instead of  just the year 6 work. We then start a peice of writing on an exposition, recount, report and many other writing types.

At 12:45 we go out for lunch. We eat lunch for 15 minutes and then there is a loud bell and this means that you can go out to play.Netball and handball are always popular at lunch and nearly everyone is playing them. In the middle of  lunch there is another bell that means that you can go to the library to read or study. Soon after it is the end of lunch and everybody goes back to their classrooms.

Firstly we have DEAR (drop everything and read) then we have talking and listening  and art. Then finally at 3:00 everyone is rather drove home on the bus or picked up by their family.

I think school is really fun and although you have to do heaps of school work I think its better than just sitting around and doing nothing and it is a definite plus that you get to learn all these things for free.

Images Improve

November16

Images improve your blog and posts because they help the reader imagine  a picture in their head of the topic that the writer is writing about. Having a picture on your post improves its look and makes it more appealing to look at.

The picture makes the post eye catching and makes the reader want to know what the post is about. On your posts I think you should use one picture to one topic or it will make the other pictures look to crowded and  the pictures might look too much the same which would make them boring. Bright, interesting pictures are the best to choose but you should make sure that they relate to the topic.

Like this picture for instance. If I was writing a post about flowers this would be one of the best ones to choose because it relates to the topic and is eye catching.

I think the best way to make your posts interesting and entertaining is by adding eyecatching images that make readers be able to picture the topic in their heads.

♠3 Great Blogs♠

November5

I’ve looked at heaps of great blogs  and it’s been pretty hard to choose just three that I really liked but finally I found them.

My favourite of all is ‘Jacqueline’s Magical Blog’ made by a girl called Jacqueline that lives in Canada and is obsessed with Harry Potter. Jacqueline’s posts are always detailed and interesting as well as being a good length long. One of the posts that I really like is a post called ‘Go with the Flow’

 http://jacqueline110gs.edublogs.org/2010/10/27/go-with-the-flow/.

It’s about food chains and how they work and I think it was very descriptive and detailed. Jacqueline’s blog is also very colourful and everything is very neat.

My second favourite blog is ‘Brianna’s Blog,  Don’t forget to smile’ it is owned by Brianna. She writes very convincing posts and always makes them interesting and always make sense. I also like how she puts lots of pictures in to her posts that make them so much more interesting. My favourite post is her latest one ‘Top 5 Songs Ever’ that says why she likes them in a very informated way.

My third favourite is Braxtons Blog that was created by Braxton a girl from New Zealand. Her blog is great because it expresses her thoughts and opinions on the subject that shes writing about. Braxtons Blog is also very colourful and looks appealing. One of my favourite posts on her blog is ‘About my Culture’ which is really creative and gives you a lot of information.

I think these three blogs are seriously impressive with the way they look and are written.
